Dog Clothes: Do Dogs REALLY Like them?
Something that is very much in vogue now is outfitting your dog in dog clothes. These are either tailored made to fit your precious pooch, or you can buy them "off the rack" at any stores with a pet section available. While these are all quite adorable when put on your dog, some of the expressions on their faces as well as actions when they are dressed, begs the question as to whether or not the dogs are REALLY enjoying this alien sensation. Also, it makes you wonder if it is fair to the dog.
A lot of you may wonder why there's even a need for dog clothes. After all, dogs come with their own built in set of clothes through the fur they are born with. That is quite true. However, there ARE reasons to dress your dog in clothes made just for it, whether it is out of need or just a desire for cuteness.
First of all, the clothes do not harm the dogs in the least. The only exception to that would be if your dog happened to have an allergy of some sort to the material of the clothes. That would show quite quickly and you would not be using that type of material again on your poor pooch. So if you like the idea of dressing up your dog for special occasions, such as Halloween or Christmas, you can bet it will get lots of attention.
Some dog clothes are actually helpful and necessary. Tiny dogs such as teacup Chihuahuas and other miniature dogs tend to become chilled rather easily, especially during the fall and winter months. You’ve probably seen these little dogs wearing their colorful custom knitted sweaters. Some of these even include a little hat for them. These are so adorable to see but you need to know that these little babies also need them to protect their small bodies from becoming chilled.
You’ll find many places to buy dog clothes. Places like Petco or Petsmart will have many selections for you to choose from. They can even be found in the pet section at your local Walmart. There are lots of styles and they’re made to accommodate both male and female dogs. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in a store, you can always check online sites or buy patterns and sew them yourself.
In the end, if your dog does not seem to enjoy being dressed up like miniature humans with four legs, the fur coat it was born with will be enough.
